Who We Are

Since 2001, Rhema Theatre Company have been bringing to life stories of hope, life and justice across the UK & beyond! Over the past 16 years close to 2 million people have watched our shows in theatres, schools, churches, prisons and online. Over the years, Rhema have been regular performers at Spring Harvest, had their work televised by UCB T.V. appeared at the Buxton Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe and the Greater Manchester Fringe and numerous other events and festivals all over the country. Rhema have worked on organised Crime Prevention with Greater Manchester Police, Salford City Council, IJM(UK), Stop the Traffik, Fearless and Crimestopppers.

Michael Peacock

Michael Peacock

Michael was born and bred in Manchester, where he trained at the Arden School of Theatre. After graduating, he spent the following few years working for the Royal Exchange Theatre Company, Riding Lights Theatre Company, Manchester Actors Company & Friargate Theatre, York. In 2001 he co-founded Rhema Theatre Company, which has since toured all over the UK – performing in schools, communities and occasionally theatres! He has spent an awful lot of time travelling!

As a writer, Michael has created over 20 different theatre productions of all shapes & sizes for Rhema Theatre Company. He has had work published for Riding Lights Theatre Company, written for the 24:7 Theatre Festival and also worked with Soho Theatre Company. His scripts have been performed on various different radio stations and a number of television channels both in the UK and abroad. They have also been used in Uganda, Kenya & Tanzania by the charity Act4Africa.

As a theatre practitioner and workshop leader, Michael has worked as far afield as Bosnia, Uganda, Slovenia and most recently, Iraq.
A film writer/director Mike’s short film The Date, was commended at the Buxton short film festival and also nominated for Best of British and Best Short Film at UKCFF. Mike is currently writing a sequel to his anti-traffoicking short film Alicija (nominated for an award at The Modcon London Film Festival and selected for the International Short Film Festival, Manchester). This sequel is currently in pre-production.

Mike and Becky enjoy being parents to Sophie (7) and Ruby (6).

Rebecca Peacock

Rebecca Peacock

Rebecca grew up in Gloucestershire within a family of musicians and trained as a viola player at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Wells Cathedral School and as an actor and singer at the National Youth Music Theatre (Edinburgh festival, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Sadlers Wells, Royal Albert Hall). She went on to study performing arts at Middlesex University.

Acting credits include Florrie in Dracula (Haymarket Theatre, Basingstoke), Hiawatha (Haymarket, Basingstoke), Riding Lights Theatre Company (various, UK tour), Les Blancs (understudy, Royal Exchange Theatre) and Manchester Actors Company (North-West tour). As a musician/actor she has toured as far afield as Argentina (Flying Gorillas Dance Company), Italy (Carducci Festival), Belgium, Slovenia and Hong-Kong. She has also used drama whilst teaching in Pakistan! 

Rebecca plays the violin, viola, piano, recorders, wooden flute, saxophone and anything that makes a noise! She has composed most of the music for Rhema shows to date. Becky co-produced Mike’s short film The Date and  Alicija.
